Fast, Accurate, Flexible. Gatekeeper is the cutting edge of volume. The tone, timbre and depth of a well-tempered acoustic piano has perhaps the widest expressive range of any instrument this side of a complete orchestra. Encapsulating the magic in digital audio samples, combined with a compelling way to play back these samples with grace and subtlety is something of a holy grail for plugin developers and VST users alike.
If you use Wavosaur for mastering / premastering, or signal analysis in a more general way, you need tools for audio analysis : spectrum analyzers, phase analyzers, sonogram. Wavosaur comes with analyzers, you’ll find them in the ‘tools’ menu, along with oscilloscopes & statistics about the sound file (maximum sample peak, RMS power, average value..).
But you can also use VST plugins (for some people it can be more convenient). We have searched deep deep inside deep deep down inside into the web, to find the best free VST plugins for audio analysis, here’s the selection:
1) Spectrum Analysis

Cinematic metal noise for horror … Freaktion is a set of harsh sounds of metal objects. We experimented with friction hammers, balls, bows and a variety of hard and sharp objects on a wide variety of metals such as large aluminum plates, tension coils, bouncy springs, buckets and even custom made string instruments.
The result is an elaborate cinematic library of disturbing harsh sounds, terrifying squeals, ominous squeaks, and other effects that you won’t find anywhere else.
Freaktion is intended for sound engineers and composers of cinematic horror music looking for new, unique sounds: whenever you want to add a disturbing, “whimsical” character to your works, this sound library will offer you a wide selection of long pitch bends, scratching ascending elements , high-pitched squeals and even deep organic tones and vocal effects.
